Great work, I really love your use of the absurd to explore the insidious core of the Howard govt. I was thinking about the acceptability of lying last night and when it become socially acceptable to overtly lie? Was is it the corporatisation of governments back in the early nineties where you could feel the real shift towards the effects of globalisation and therefore Americanism?
For me, the Tampa incident had drawn a line in the sand and that the Australian public would show it's true colours if they voted the Howard Govt back in. When the Howard govt was returned that was the marker for me, when lying became an acceptable form of social behaviour. What is really frightening is people do forget, true historic facts get forgotten and history, if we let it can be re written with lies. I feel ashamed that my country is run by blatant liars. Well done again for stirring up the history pot.
