The modern maternity care system is in disarray... with overservicing, high intervention, and high cost.
Midwives, working alongside the women they serve, will light the way to better birth.

Everyone is born! As I said under 'dailyd's comment. Many don't realise the effects of huge waste in maternity care. Every single Australian is affected by this waste in the health system. If we reform the area that is the highest in volume (maternity) we impact across health. All those areas where people are crying out for more $$ - What about mental health? Disability. These programs could get the $$ they genuinely need. Our environment is very important as is Uranium mining.
As a society we are judged by how we treat our vulnerable. Maternity care in Australia is a broken mess and despite 32 enquiries, Nothing has changed. The answer is there, the rightful use of midwives. This will improve care dramatically and save a huge amount of health spending.
