Privacy Statement
Privacy matters, and GetUp is totally committed to ensuring that your participation in our important work protects that privacy.
Why does GetUp collect personal information for Oz in 30 Seconds?
We’re collecting your information primarily so we can send you updates on the ‘Oz in 30 Seconds’ competition. We will probably send you a reminder of the approaching due date for submissions, an announcement that public voting is open, and an announcement of the winning entry and where you can see it on television – although there may be a couple more.
You can stop receiving emails, or change your details at any time by using the link at the bottom of each email, or by sending an email to privacy@getup.org.au
In addition, we may need to use your information for legal purposes pursuant to the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918, or the Broadcasting Services Act 1992. If your advertisement is selected as a finalist or the eventual winner, you will need to authorize the ad for television broadcast – which would include your name and address.
You may also choose to receive GetUp updates. In this case we may also use your information to identify your location (eg electorate, state) and provide targeted and relevant opportunities for you to be part of our activities.
What does GetUp do with the information?
GetUp will not provide your personal information to any other person or organisation except where necessary eg to verify credit card transactions or as required by law.
We won't sell, trade or exchange your information without your permission.
We'll make all reasonable efforts to store your information safely and securely. When you donate online using credit card facilities, that information is encrypted before being sent using SSL certificates.
